How to make Chicken Biryani

INGREDIENTS

  •  Basmati rice-1 kg
  • Tomatoes - 2 (finely chopped)
  • Onions - 4 (finely chopped )
  • Ginger garlic paste - 3 tsp
  • Coriander and Mint leaves - 1 cup
  • Green chillies - 4
  • Oil - 3 tsp
  • Ghee - 3 tsp
  • Curd - 1/4 cup
  • Salt - as per your taste
  • Red chilly powder - 3 tsp
  • Cloves - 6
  • Bay leaves - 3
  • Cardamom - 4
  • Cinnamon - 5
  • Pepper powder - 2 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 2 tsp
  • Garam masala - 2 tsp

PROCESS:

  1.  Soak basmati rice for 30 minutes to 2 hours after washing it thrice with water.
  2.  Wash the chicken and take it a bowl. 
  3. Add 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste, 2 tsp of pepper powder, cumin powder, garam masala, red chilly powder, salt, curd and mix it with chicken properly and marinate it for 30 minutes.
  4.  Fry some onions and keep it aside.
  5. Take a bowl and keep it on the stove. Pour oil and ghee into the bowl, add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaves and stir it for 2 - 3 minutes. 
  6. Add finely chopped onions, tomatoes and green chillies, stir it for 5 minutes. Now add 2 tsp of ginger garlic paste to it. Add marinated chicken to the mixture and wait till the chicken is half boiled.
  7.  Pour 6 glasses(1/4 lts) of water and boil it for 10 minutes.
  8. Add soaked rice into the chicken bowl and let the rice cook until it is done
  9. Now garnish it with mint,coriander leaves and fried onions.
  10. Now, it is ready to eat.
